Our talented volunteers designed, sewed & quilted this beautiful baby quilt that was included in the gift basket donated to Prince of Peace Catholic Community"s fundraising raffle. The basket included the quilt, a stroller blanket & matching hat, burp clothes, bibs, and a receiving blanket.
In addition HHLOC donated 20 stroller blankets with matching hats, 20 baby bibs, and 20 burp clothes.
DePelchin Children's Center was the recipient of Thursday's donation of 35 juvenile quilts and 30 baby's stroller blankets. Pictured is HHLOC volunteer Cathy T and DePelchin's Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager Kelsey P. A shout out of appreciation to all our hardworking volunteers who made this gift possible.
HHLOC delivered 35 adult lap quilts to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital on Thursday afternoon. These quilts will be distributed by chaplains & volunteers at Willowbrook. Also included were were 27 neck pillows for use as head rests while patients undergo treatment in the hospital's infusion center. Pictured are Willowbrook Methodist Volunteer Coordinator Laura G & Patient Liason Lisa M with a couple of our quilts.
Since 2023 is half over, HHLOC thought our volunteers would want to know what HHLOC has accomplished so far as well as what we hope to accomplish before year end. As always, we want to express our appreciation for your contributions as we could not do it without YOU! We welcome your suggestions for organizations to distribute our finished products to.

Ongoing Projects:
*Pillow Seat Protectors – the VA will accept as many of these as we can provide
*Burp Cloths, Bibs, & Stroller blanket & hat sets – local Catholic churches accept these for their Gabriel Project that has had a dramatic increase since the reversal of Roe vs Wade
Homeless Hats
*Red, White & Blue Hero Hats
*Patriotic, Juvenile, Baby & Adult quilts – our biggest need in the sewing portion of our charity is the actual quilting of our quilts. In an attempt to decrease the time & cost of quilt completion, we are planning to complete some of our juvenile & baby quilts using the turn & tie method. This is a time saver as well as a cost saver as we can use less expensive polyester batting we have available.
